Jesus’ church had twelve official members who became eleven after the betrayal. There were a few other unofficial disciples, friends, admirers and family members. The rest were referred to as multitudes or crowds, NOT his church.

The commandment to all ministers is not to gather the multitudes or crowds, but to build the church through making disciples. There is a big difference between  mobilizing/gathering and BUILDING.

1 Corinth 3:10-11 Using the gift that God gave me, I did the work of an expert builder and laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each of you must be careful how you build.

Jesus will gather all those who will have been built and discipled when he returns, that will be the church. While there is nothing wrong with a big church/congregation, its spiritual quality and composition matters. The size is NOT an indication of God’s presence or approval.

God is NOT and has NEVER been impressed by numbers or appearances.Anyone who thinks so should read their bible carefully again.

Remember he advised Gideon to reduce his army from 33,000 to 300 because the rest were not genuine soldiers. Jesus stood and asked those around him to drink his blood and eat his flesh, which was a challenge for them to be filled with his word and live it. Crowds/multitudes want fish and Lobels bread, not the body of Jesus who is the WORD.

John 6:26 Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.

We see all the multitudes gathering under some so called prophets today because they WANT something, they do not want to BE what Jesus wants them to be. The multitudes all disappeared except for a few disciples who had received the revelation of life, that outside of Christ there was no life.

John 6:66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

Crowds “disappear” as soon as the preacher stops shouting, “Problems disappear!”
Our good God will continue to mercifully send rain over the good and evil, even help and sustain sinners in various ways, but never be fooled, HE KNOWS HIS SHEEP,HIS SHEEP ALSO KNOW HIS VOICE.

Jesus will continue to be preached to multitudes, healings and miracles will happen because it is those healings and miracles which will be a testimony AGAINST those who do not want to change even after receiving the benefits of grace. Jesus wants doers of the word not gatherers and hearers.

James 1:22-23 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

As a minister you have to be careful that you are not the minder of thousands of goats. The word separates the sheep from the goats.

Matthew 25:32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

Spend ten minutes with one goat and you will understand why the Lord prefers sheep. Is it a coincidence that the main satanic symbol is a goat’s head?

As a minister be faithful over the sheep that you shepherd regardless of their numbers. What people hear and think is praise and worship in the gathering of multitudes called churches today is NOISE in God’s ears from those worshiping the idols they built.

Exodus 32:17-19 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp. 18 But Moses said, It is not the sound of shouting for victory, neither is it the sound of the cry of the defeated, but the sound of singing that I hear. 19 And as soon as he came near to the camp he saw the calf and the dancing. And Moses’ anger blazed hot and he cast the tables out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

Also do not worry about numbers, concentrate on the one, two, three or thousands you are assigned to,because I can assure you there are already billions who are born again dead and alive, waiting for that day!
