I was in a great big field of grain, of which I never saw its borders in my dream, as it seemed to go on endlessly like a sea. In a very small portion of that field, on a little hill, a villain and his helper had a machine that was harvesting some of that grain. He also built a large stone house for holding water, and he was beginning to fill it with water as some sort of irrigation system that he thought would help to speed up the growth of the crops for the region that he had stolen, and in my dream, I could understand his thoughts, and he was thinking that such growth would happen overnight. Then there was another scene to my dream. In another part of the very large field, I saw a mother sitting on a horse. Next to her was her son on a pony who was probably a teenager or maybe 12. And in front of them was her husband on a horse pulling a large wagon that was loaded with grain. I had the sense that they were about to engage in the harvest, but that they were also about to take a trip, and the son was complaining a bit about the rough ride of his pony compared to the smooth ride of his mother’s horse.

These three came upon the part of the field where the villain and his helper were stealing some of the grain. They saw what was happening at a distance. The section that the villains had already harvested, it seems, they were going over endlessly, as if they were confined to the little hill on which they sat, unable to steal anymore than they already had. The family of three seemed distressed, but they did not say anything that I remember, and it was at that point that the dream ended.

Genesis 22:17: “I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies.”

This is the Scripture that came to my mind as I began to re-read the dream as I had recorded it. The sea of grain represents the spiritual descendants of Abraham, those who obey the commandments of Jesus and trust in His atoning death and resurrection for eternal life. This field is ripe, and ready for harvest, and the devil knows it. He is going to try to steal as much of it as he can as he seeks to spew lies and enticements from his mouth toward God’s people in an effort to sway them from the Path of Life. Yet, as the dream reveals, he and his companions (those who oppose the gospel) barely have touched the great crop of souls, despite their apparent worldly advantage (they have a machine, whereas the church has a horse-pulled wagon) and prominence (they are on a hill). Their effort to build an irrigation system is their anti-christ ambition to imitate the work of Jesus Christ and use the very souls God has called to bring in a harvest of his own, which he hopes to multiply rapidly. These are those who do fall into the devil’s trap and who are then used as Judases to do as much damage to the church as possible.

Those on horseback represent the true Church. They are in the process of harvesting souls for Christ, and–contrary to the foolish ambitions of the devil to steal a great harvest of souls–God will confine and oppose him, and the true Church will find that they are enabled to harvest very rapidly as the return of Yehushua approaches (by the power of the Holy Spirit, not their own devices as seen by the enemy’s irrigation system), for while they are yet harvesting, they also have their sights on their imminent departure to meet the Lord in the air.

The young man who is riding the pony represents an immature Christian. He feels the trials in life as painful bumps and complains about them, while those who are more seasoned in their walk with the Lord and have their focus more fully set on the call of the Master seem to notice the bumps less while also having become more skilled at riding the storms. They are practically above them, as those mounted up with wings as eagles, having fixed their eyes on Jesus.

God’s people are certainly aware of the devil’s schemes to overcome the church, but God’s power will be so undeniable right before His return, that they will witness Satan’s attacks as something almost detached from themselves. It will distress them, but they will look upon it as those from a distance, knowing the final outcome and the victory of their Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:1-2: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

1 Peter 1:3-9, 13-16: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls…Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”

Revelation 14:15: “And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, ‘Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.’”

Matthew 16:18: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
