The Quiet Before The Storm – Sudden Destruction – Again Matthew 24 Mentioned (WestCoastWalker)

I’m posting this in faith as it came to me last night. A few of us were discussing how quiet it is and how there is currently a “quietness” in the air. There’s a few “apocalyptic” stories here and there, there’s earthquakes and volcanoes going off every day, but it seems there is a downplay in events.  Remember in Matthew 24 that these are birth pangs. It ramps up for a while and then quiets down. It’s been doing this for quite a while now. But this is what flooded my mind last night when talking about how “quiet” it is. “Trust God!!  He knows what He’s doing!!  It could be the last calmness we have before the biggest tempest this world has ever seen. As in the days of Noah. Everything seemingly under control and nothing to worry about and then BOOM!!!  “SUDDEN DESTRUCTION!!”  We aren’t going to see it coming guys!!  It’s going to take even those of us focused on the signs of the times and focused on Jesus by surprise. No warning. So just because we’ve hit a place where there’s no apocalyptic news or happenings doesn’t mean we’re out of trouble. If anything, I’m a little more worried when things get really quiet then when craziness is going on all around.”

Do you know Jesus?  I mean, do you REALLY know Him?

I encourage everyone that reads this message to really take a moment to ponder this question.  I have been asking myself this question for weeks now.  Do I really know Jesus?  Am I mirroring what He was and is?  Am I Jesus to those around me?

In 2 Corinthians 10:5b, it says we are to be “bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”  I myself am not always practicing this every day.  Sometimes the busyness of the day and the situations going on around me distract me from doing this.  But if we take our thoughts into captivity and cast down the thoughts that are not of the spirit, the thoughts that are not of God, then we can have peace in our hearts and refuse to let the enemy continue to lie to us.

Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”  As stated above, if we are taking every thought into captivity in the obedience of Christ, then we are also renewing our minds.  We are training ourselves to think as Jesus thought, do as Jesus did, LOVE as Jesus loved.

If you have never asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, say this prayer today, mean it with every molecule of your existence and believe and live it out each day.  May God bless every step of the path He leads you on.  It won’t always be easy, but in the end it will all be worth it.

Dear Lord,

I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent of my sins. I ask you to forgive me of my sins.

I believe that You died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to You now and ask You to take control of my life; I give it all to You. From this day forward, help me to live every day for You and in a way that honors and glorifies You.

I love You, Lord, and I thank You that I will spend all eternity with You.
