Focus On The Lord

by jcsouthwest

Psalm 46:7  The Lord of Hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our stronghold.Selah

Psalm 91:1  The one who lives under the protection of the Most High
dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 123:1-2

I lift my eyes to You,
the One enthroned in heaven.
Like a servant’s eyes on his master’s hand,
like a servant girl’s eyes on her mistress’s hand,
so our eyes are on the Lord our God
until He shows us favor.

Proverbs 4:25-26

Let your eyes look forward;
fix your gaze straight ahead.
Carefully consider the path for your feet,
and all your ways will be established.

Jeremiah 29:12-13

You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart

Matthew 6:33-34

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.  Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 15:7-9

Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said: These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
They worship Me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commands of men.”

Colossians 3:1-4

So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth.  For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.  When the Messiah, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Philippians 3:12-21

Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.  Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead,  I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.  Therefore, all who are mature should think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will reveal this also to you.  In any case, we should live up to whatever truth we have attained.  Join in imitating me, brothers, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us.  For I have often told you, and now say again with tears, that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.  Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame. They are focused on earthly things,  but our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.

Hebrews 3:1-6

Therefore, holy brothers and companions in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession;  He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was in all God’s household.  For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.  Now every house is built by someone, but the One who built everything is God.  Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future.  But Christ was faithful as a Son over His household. And we are that household if we hold on to the courage and the confidence of our hope.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,  keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
