OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE

I received a Word that I posted yesterday and the Holy Spirit said obedience is better than sacrifice and hoping this helps you to realize how important obedience is to the Father’s commands.  In the Old Testament obedience was always a requirement and remember what happened to them in the desert when they were told to collect extra manna on Friday so that they would have enough to eat on the Sabbath and those that didn’t obey and went out on the 7th day to collect manna were put to death. If Abba says it in the Word then take heed to the warning of what happens when we disobey because there are tons of verses on what happens to children of disobedience in the New Testament. Take Him seriously! Can we obey? Absolutely if we truly love Him we would want to simply because we love Him because His Word is written in our hearts! His Word has never changed from OT in Genesis to the end of Revelation!! There are more verses on obedience in the New Testament but only posted a few. NOTICE TOO HOW MANY TIMES HE STATES OBEY MY COMMANDMENTS; SO IT MUST BE REALLY IMPORTANT TO HIM!! I think at one time I counted 69 verses on it.OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE I received a Word that I posted yesterday and the Holy Spirit said this in it and hoping this helps you to realize how important obedience is to the Father’s commands.

Samuel 15:22-25 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in OBEYING the voice of the Lord? Behold, to OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord.

1 John 2:17   And the world passeth away, and the lust       thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Ephesians 2:10   For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 14:15   “If you love Me, keep My commandments.1 John 2:17   And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.James 1:22-27   But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. {23} For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; {24} for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. {25}But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. {26} If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. {27} Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

James 2:14-26   What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? {15} If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, {16} and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? {17} Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. {18} But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. {19} You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe; and tremble! {20} But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? {21} Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? {22} Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? {23} And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. {24} You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. {25} Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? {26}For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1 John 2:3-6   Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. {4} He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. {5} But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. {6} He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Revelation 22:14   Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

1 John 5:2   By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. {3} For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.John 14:23-24   Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. {24} “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.  Matthew 12:50   For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

  1. I find it sad that the Ten Commandments have been taken down from many/most of our nation’s institutions. God wrote them on the Tablets Himself. They were put in The Ark of the Covenant along with the golden pot of manna and Aaron’s budding rod.

Revelation mentions The Ark of the Covenant in Heaven. I would have to assume that the 10 Commandments are in it. Moses’ Tabernacle, The Ark of the Covenant, and all items in the Tabernacle were types and shadows of what is in Heaven.

    1. Have you seen that the godhaters are all trying to take down the written Commandments no matter where they are. Satan sure
thinks it is totally important to remove them so people won’t follow and adhere to them or else they wouldn’t be taking them down.
But people don’t think they have to follow them. Go figure. There would be absolutely no reason for satan to go nuts getting those
whom he controls to tear them down, smash them or fight to have them taken away if there was no validity in them.
He knows it is God’s eternal laws and satan hates that 4th commandment with a passion. His day has always been Sunday and he wants
      to be god remember?
Yes the Ten Commandments went inside the Ark, Moses law (ordinances) went on the outside of the Ark. Moses law was ordinances written
by Moses because God told him to do it because people were so stiffnecked and rebellious. Not the same as the Ten because those were
written by the finger of God himself. AMEN

  2. When Jesus fulfilled the law it means he “established the law”. He never “did away with it”. That is evidently clear throughout
Scripture. I can tell you that when the Holy Spirit is operating through you, you get to a place in your own life where you hate sin
and desire nothing to do with it. 🙂 You do need the Holy Spirit to free you of the chains of sin because doing it on our own only
works temporarily but when the Holy Spirit rids you of your weaknesses it is a permanent. 🙂 Thank you for your reply.

  3. I agree Jc that Jesus became our “propitiation for sin” (atonement) and it was by His grace, mercy and love for all of us. None of us had a chance
and Jesus made a way when there was no way. 🙂

  4. Just had a conversation with someone at a church today and we were talking about things we entertain ourselves with such as books about witchcraft and vampires and TV shows about homosexuality and fornication. The person said, “But God knows my heart”. Think about this statement a moment please… Our actions show our heart. Our words show our heart. We each have inbound and out bound communication that show our hearts – what our hearts desire to eat and what our hearts feed others.

Think about these verses for a bit:
1 Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Phil 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

The word communication means more than just words. It entails our overall behavior. The verse in 1 Cor shows us that communication from evil WILL corrupt good manners. Stop entertaining yourself with what God hates – this is choice we make – it is not made for us.

Yes, the Holy Spirit strengthens us and guides — but we must CHOOSE to follow after righteous. This is the battle ground Paul detailed in Romans 7. We must choose to put away the old man and put on the new man as he told the Ephesians. If this was automatic, then why the need to urge them to do such a thing? The answer is obvious. Because we have a choice and that choice is ours to make.

What is my point in all this? Because we have to choose to walk after righteousness and crucify the flesh. The new man desires to follow after the law of God, but the old man does not. So we MUST crucify the old man and choose to live by the new man which is spiritual and not carnal. The carnal mind is at enmity with the law of God. Will we stumble in our faith and walk? Yes. Does that negate the law of God? Absolutely not. We are absolutely supposed to strive to live perfect as Jesus did. We are to follow Paul as he follows after Christ. Paul walked as Christ walked and taught others to do the same. The Church today tells people they do not need to do that. How insane! Peter quoted Leviticus as it said “be ye holy as I am holy”. What is holy? The perfect law of God. You know how I know that? Because Jesus was holy and he obeyed the Father’s law perfectly. The scriptures further say “If you love me, you will keep my commandments”. Do you love Jesus? Then obey his laws/commandments/statutes. Choose to obey them out of love for your savior and your joy will be full and you will see that the Holy Spirit will guide you and strengthen you to do it. So many people use the verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. But what is the context? It is about walking in faith.

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Using the scripture in Matthew to teach that the law is done away with when Jesus says he came to fulfil it, is calling Jesus a liar, as the next verse clearly continues the thought by stating that not one jot or tittle will pass until heaven and earth pass away. Additionally, the exegesis is bad as well, because the same word is used all over the NT and it clearly has the meaning of establish or to fill full (to fill up) – not do away as most people teach.

In my opening I mentioned the person who stated that God knows my heart. But so does everyone else by your communication (in bound and out bound). Think about it.

I will finish with this: You have to believe by faith that God will strengthen you and enable you to obey his laws. If you do not, you never will be able to walk in perfect love.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

I will re-iterate… LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU. You are saved by faith and judged by works. A man’s works are a reflection of his faith/heart.
