For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters” (Gal. 5:13) NLT

Heavenly Father, thank You for FREEDOM! The Fourth of July celebrates America’s independence – her freedom from being under the rulership of the British Empire. Thank You God for our nation’s freedom! But much more important, Your Word teaches us that we are called to live in spiritual freedom. We are free from laws of organized religion and man-made traditions, we are free from letting our sinful desires dictate our actions, and most of all: we are free from being under the rulership of Satan. And You said in John 8:36, “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.” We are free! But unfortunately, most of us don’t “feel” free. Lord God, please teach us what our freedom really means! Give us understanding! We don’t have to be slaves to sin, emotional pain and oppression! We don’t have to live in shackles and chains. In all the areas where we are not feeling the freedom that You made available to us through Your death and resurrection, Lord please help us to earnestly seek You for healing and deliverance. The more we are healed and delivered, the more of our chains You break – the more freedom we can walk in and live in everyday. We are FREE! Now teach us to walk in it, Lord! In Jesus’s precious name, amen.
