Which Road: Narrow Road Less Travelled or The Broad Road That Takes Us To Destruction

beach, landing stage, nature

The Narrow Road is a lonely road and many times a heartbreaking one since your family, friends will call you “crazy”, say “that you must be of the devil”, that you have a “mental disorder” and all kinds of wonderful names and ailments they will try to place on you. It is because most on the broad road cannot give up anything in the world, have to have their sex, alcohol, fetishes filled to the brim. They refuse to give even one small part of themselves to God yet play as if they are following. The jezebel spirit is alive and well in those on the broad road and they even show up at church and right after they leave go right back into their sins. Where is the “holiness”, the “sacrifice” we are to give, where is the walking away from “temptation”, where is the “effort” being made? We are saved by grace but being “under grace” has never given us a “free license to sin” yet this is how most are being taught. As long as you are under grace you do nothing and continue as you are. Well, where is the “New wine”, “new man”? If you truly received the Holy Spirit then you are a “new creature” and you were given power that “sin would no longer have dominion” (Romans 6:14-16) over you so if you are still sinning and making excuses you are still the “old man” and are “still lost”.

You must “die to self” and the Holy Spirit will help with this if He is truly in you. If you are the same today as the day you say you became a believer and got the Holy Spirit and there is no evidence of major changes in your life showing evidence you are an “overcomer” then you were not “born again” to the “new man” and whomever told you that you now have the Holy Spirit did you an injustice. CHANGE IS THE KEY to knowing whether you really are no longer lost but have been found. I hear most tell me they got saved at 14 or 16 or at some young age and they are drinking, smoking, having sex outside of marriage, living with someone fornicating and all kinds of things yet they think they are going to inherit the kingdom of heaven. REALLY?? How can that be when the Bible says:

Galatians 5:17-21 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary to one another so that ye cannot do the things ye would. (18) But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and suck like: of that which I tell you in time past, that THEY WHICH DO SUCH THINGS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

if you are in any of these sins you are still in “bondage and not been set free from the law”. If ye are no longer under the law, then you have been freed so that sin will no longer have dominion over you; this is where true liberty is!

Realize you can “be an overcomer” because that is what we are called to be and that means overcoming sin, temptation and whatever holds us back from this walk.

Have a blessed day

  1. Thank-you for this EXCELLENT post.
    I am reminded of this Scripture:
    PSALM 69:7-9

    7Because for Your sake I have borne reproach;
    Dishonor has covered my face.

    8I have become estranged from my brothers
    And an alien to my mother’s sons.

    9For zeal for Your house has consumed me,
    And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

    But I also remember these very comforting words from Scripture (really about those following the NARROW WAY):
    The Beatitudes- Matthew 5:3-12
    3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
    4“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

    5“Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.

    6“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

    7“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

    8“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

    9“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

    10“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

    11“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

    That’s a lot of BLESSINGS!

  2. And may I add this from Psalm 71:1-6

    1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge;
    Let me never be ashamed.
    2In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
    Incline Your ear to me and save me.

    3Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come;
    You have given commandment to save me,
    For You are my rock and my fortress.

    4Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,
    Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,

    5For You are my hope;
    O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.

    6By You I have been sustained from my birth;
    You are He who took me from my mother’s womb;
    My praise is continually of You.
