Verse & Word: How Satan Uses Music To Get You To Fall- (Jolie)

This is so very true and all need to be very mindful of what you listen to. Secular music has many demonic undertones whether you realize it or not.

“You were in Eden, the garden of God… the workmanship of your timbrels and pipes [musical instruments] was prepared for you on the day you were created” (Ezek. 28:13). NKJV

Heavenly Father, thank You for Ezekiel. In this chapter, he writes of the king of Tyre, but most experts agree that this is also referring to Lucifer (Satan) – from before he fell from Heaven. It’s ultra important that we know Satan’s character so we can be wise to his tactics and attacks. Before Satan fell, he had musical instruments – which suggests he played a large part in much of the worship that went on in Heaven. Why should we know this? Because Satan is VERY skilled with music – still. He USES music, that he and his demons create through people, to hugely influence the world. Satan is called the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4). And one way he impacts our world is through secular and demonically fueled music. As one example: why do people hold up their arms and turn on their cell phone lights or lighters at music concerts? Because they are worshiping. We were all created to worship God. But it we don’t worship Him, we’ll be drawn to worship someone / something else, it’s inevitable. Lord God, please forgive us for listening to music that glorifies all things of the world (lust, alcohol, rebellion…), instead of music that glorifies YOU! Please help us to be wise to the devil’s lures and temptations. Help us to be aware of what we’re actually singing about and what the effect the music has on us. May be honest and ask ourselves: Is this music drawing me closer to or further away from the Lord? Wake us up God! In Jesus’s beautiful name, amen.
